WARWICKSHIRE Police cadets have taken part in a Passing Out Parade to celebrate their hard work and achievements.
The ceremony – the first in-person passing out parade in over a year due to the pandemic – marked the departure of 32 cadets who have completed the programme, acknowledged the contribution of those remaining, and welcomed a further 46 new recruits.
The parade at Warwickshire Police’s headquarters in Leek Wootton was attended by 200 people.
The cadets carried out a marching display in front of proud families, close friends, cadet leaders, police officers and special guests.
After the ceremony, each passing out cadet was awarded with a medal to mark their voluntary service to Warwickshire.
The ceremony also welcomed new cadet recruits, who were presented with lanyards and ID badges by honoured guest Min Willoughby-De Brooke, High Sheriff of Warwickshire.
Deputy Chief Constable of Warwickshire Police Alex Franklin Smith, who opened the proceedings, said “We are extremely proud of our cadets and grateful for their contributions to policing and the communities we serve.
“Today we welcome our new cadet intake and say a fond farewell and good luck to our leavers. We hope that they are now inspired to build a career in policing and we will welcome them back into the Warwickshire force in the future.”
Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe brought proceedings to a close.
He said: “It is a privilege to be here today to pay tribute to these remarkable young people. I would like to congratulate the cadets on their accomplishments and thank them for volunteering their time to assist the policing effort, making a positive impact to Warwickshire communities.”
