GENEROUS guests at the Miss England Competition have raised over £300 for The Myton Hospices.
The Miss England competition – which this year was held at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Coventry – links up with national organisations to raise money through the Miss World competition’s Beauty with a Purpose charitable arm.
And Myton was delighted when Director Angie Beasley agreed to choose it as the event’s local charity partner, allowing it to promote its work and services on the evening, as well as sharing the profits of the event-night raffle between Myton and Beauty with a Purpose.
Thanks to the generosity of all involved, a grand total of £307 has now been donated to Myton to help support its work caring for people with a life-limiting illness at its hospices in Coventry, Rugby and Warwick.
Chris Willmott, Corporate Fundraiser at Myton, said: “A huge thank you to Angie for giving Myton the chance to be involved in the fabulous occasion that is the Miss England finals and the opportunity to tell people about our work caring for patients across Coventry and Warwickshire with life-limiting illnesses.
“We’re ever-grateful for the fantastic generosity of those people who supported the raffle and for the wonderful donation.
“Every pound we receive makes such a huge difference to the lives of our patients and their families, now and in the future – so a big thank you from everyone at Myton and, most importantly, on behalf of our patients and their loved ones.”
Angie Beasley added: “It was a great pleasure to work with The Myton Hospices and to be able to make a donation which we know will go straight to heart of the work of the organisation. It is very gratifying to be able to support a very worthy cause which provides such vital support and services to those people with life-limiting illnesses.”
