SUSPECTED drug dealers have been arrested as part of ongoing patrols targeting the supply of class A drugs in Rugby.

Plain-clothed officers from Rugby Proactive CID spotted a suspected drug deal in Park Road on Tuesday October 5.

They arrested a 49-year-old man from Rugby on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Following the arrest, officers carried out a search of a flat in Holbrook Avenue where they seized suspected heroin and crack cocaine, a mobile phone and cash.

A 20-year-old woman from London who was at the property was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Both suspects have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Det Cons Tom Quinlan from Rugby Proactive CID said: “The arrests were part of the ongoing proactive efforts to tackle the supply of drugs in Rugby. These efforts will continue as we seek opportunities to disrupt dealers.”
