Rugby Editorial 21st Nov, 2021   0

MEMBERS of the Rugby and District Art Society are looking forward to once again putting their work on display at their annual Awards Exhibition, after a year off due to the pandemic.

The exhibition will take place at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum’s Floor One Gallery from Saturday November 27 to Thursday December 9.

Society President Paul Torr said: “As the Society enters its 85th season, we are proud to once again announce this exhibition of our members’ work.

“There are many talented artists and craftspeople in and around Rugby, and one of the Society’s aims is to provide a public showcase for their talents, as well as regular meetings, talks and activities for all those interested in the arts. Come and enjoy our show, and if you like it – join us!”

An independent panel of judges will evaluate the works entered, and the public will also be able to vote for their favourite – the ‘Visitors’ Choice’.

The Mayor of Rugby will presenting the 2021 Floor One Awards, at the 1st December 2021 Members’ meeting, when there will also be a demonstration from a special Mystery Guest.

During its run, the exhibition will be open to the public from 10am to 5pm on Tuesdays to Fridays, and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays.

The Society meets on the first Wednesday of each month at Dunchurch Village Hall. Most meetings feature a demonstration or presentation by an expert artist. The Society also holds workshops, live drawing sessions, monthly demonstrations and members’ group visits.
