A WARM welcome was given to Ukrainians by Lutterworth’s Mayor.
Over 60 Ukrainians and their hosts attended a barbecue in Catthorpe to bring them together and welcome them to Leicestershire.
Lutterworth Mayor Bill Zilberts addressed the visitors, whose words were translated to Ukrainian by one of the guests.
Many of the hosts and guests brought an array of salads, nibbles and desserts, and enjoyed a variety of games.
The event was jointly organised by Lutterworth Rotary, who provided the food and equipment, and local Ukrainian Co-Ordinators Sean and Marion Buckland.
Peter Osborn of Lutterworth Rotary said: “Our guests had come from many parts of Ukraine including Lviv, Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkiv and Mariupol. In spite their tragic circumstances it was a fun day, and Rotary hope to offer our continued support.”
