Food festival back on the menu

FOOD glorious food – Rugby’s Food and Drink Festival is returning after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.

The culinary jamboree takes place in Regent Street on Saturday September 24 from 11am to 5pm.

Businesses, farms and producers will set up stall to tempt passers-by with their treats.

A pop-up kitchen will host a variety of demonstrations from chefs throughout the day, and there will be family entertainment to keep the little ones occupied.

Jo Kemp from organisers Rugby First said: “We are delighted to welcome back one of the town centre’s most popular festivals after a two-year break.

If you are a restaurant, cafe, pub, bar, food or drink business and are interested in having a stall at the festival, demonstrating in the ‘Pop-up Kitchen’ or getting involved, please get in touch – there are still a few spaces available.

“Rugby First is introducing a Real Ale Trail to this year’s Food and Drink Festival showcasing some of the finest real ales and the fantastic pubs in our town serving them. Details of the pubs taking part will be available shortly – and there may well be some cheeky discounts to those who follow the trail.”

Call 01788 890789 or email [email protected] to get involved with the festival.
