SCHOOLS in Rugby and Coventry are coming together to recruit more teachers for the region.
Coventry and Central Warwickshire Teaching School Hub, based at Lawrence Sheriff School in Rugby, and Futures Teaching Alliance, which is based at President Kennedy School in Coventry, have joined forces to put on two ‘Get Into Teaching’ events.
The events – which are open to anyone interested in becoming a teacher, from graduates to career-changers – will provide information on the various routes into teaching, and a unique opportunity to speak with staff from local schools.
A spokesperson said: ““Every young person deserves an education that sets them up to succeed in life, and our mission is to get the best people in the classroom.
“The children of Coventry and Warwickshire need talented outstanding teachers to allow them to flourish, and we believe that Coventry and Warwickshire is full of graduates who can meet this need.
“Nothing is more joyful than seeing a student you have been working with have that light-bulb moment, or develop the confidence to have a go at something that challenges them.”
The drop-in events take place on Tuesday February 7 at Lawrence Sheriff School in Rugby, and Thursday February 16 at President Kennedy School in Coventry, both from 4.30pm until 7.30pm.
