Hospice charity opens new Information Hub in Rugby

A HOSPICE charity has opened a new Information Hub in Rugby with the aim of reaching people earlier in their illnesses.

The Myton Hospices has opened the hub at its charity shop in Church Street.

Myton wants to make it as easy as possible for people with a life-limiting illness to access information about the help available for them and their loved ones, right from the point of diagnosis.

At the hub, people can find out about the charity’s services – including at the Rugby Myton Support Hub in the grounds of St Cross Hospital – and can also be referred to Myton’s Wellbeing Service.

The hub will be run by staff and volunteers, with someone available to talk to on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12-3pm.

The launch of the new Information Hub coincides with the one year anniversary of the opening of Rugby Myton Support Hub, which provides a range of activities for anyone aged 18 years and over who is living with or caring for someone with a life limiting illness. It is a community-based service working with local partners. All support provided is free of charge and no referral is needed.

Visit the Myton Shop on Church Street for more information, or visit www.mytonhospice.org/Hub to find out more about Rugby Myton Support Hub.

Myton is also looking for volunteers to help run the Information Hub for a few hours a week. Visit www.mytonhospice.org/volunteer for more information.
