COMMITTED fund-raisers in Rugby have been honoured for giving decades of dedication.
Mayor Maggie O’Rourke presented long service medals to members of The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Rugby Fund Raising Branch.
Susan Haddon, Suzanne Downham, Graham Warren, Peter Warilow, Kate Harvey and Robin Warwood have each been given medals for their efforts.
Medals are presented after 20 years service – and the group’s committee of nine in total have a combined length of service of 237 years.
Chairman Graham Warren said: “There has been a fund-raising branch in Rugby for over 60 years. We do what we do not for recognition, but to help this tremendous life-saving charity, which is funded solely by donations and legacies.
“The RNLI makes the awards to show the dedication of its supporters, and to tell the world how many of us are out there doing our bit such a worthwhile cause.”
