RUGBY Town saw their winless run in all competitions stretch to six matches following a 2-0 defeat at Sporting Khalsa.
First-half goals from Andre Landell and James McGrady condemned Valley to defeat at the Guardian Warehousing Arena.
The result means Rugby sit 15th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, three points above the relegation zone.
Khalsa broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark when Landell latched on to a long ball and smashed a low shot past Paul Hathaway from 12-yards out.
And the home side doubled their lead on the stroke of half time as McGrady headed in Jayden Campbell’s cross from close range.
Valley improved after the break as Liam Francis saw his header come back off the crossbar.
And Hilton Arthur then had an effort from the edge of the penalty area well-saved by Sporting goalkeeper Brandon Ganley.
Rugby are next in action against Bedworth United on Saturday, October 5 with kick-off at 3pm at Butlin Road.
