RUGBY Town conceded six goals at home for the second game in a row after suffering a humiliating 6-0 defeat against unbeaten league leaders Quorn.
Valley conceded four goals in the opening 25 minutes before Quorn struck twice after the break to inflict a heavy defeat on Carl Adams’ side at Butlin Road.
The result means Rugby sit 19th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, inside the relegation zone on goal difference.
Quorn broke the deadlock after just five minutes when Reece Fyfe slid a shot past Paul Hathaway from a long ball in-behind the Valley defence.
And the visitors doubled their lead on 15 minutes as Tyreace Brown inadvertently sliced Jordan Clarke’s cross from the left into his own net.
Quorn all but sealed the points on 22 minutes when Clarke tapped home Courey Grantham’s pass.
And the visitors showed no mercy by adding their fourth goal three minutes later as Cain Noble finished from Clarke’s ball across the six-yard box.
Rugby improved after the break as Chris Clements, Silvano Obeng and debutant Keiron Berry all hit the target but failed to beat Tom Allsopp in the Quorn net.
However, Quorn made it five on 69 minutes as Oscar Marshall’s low effort found the bottom corner.
And Grantham completed the scoring in injury time to pile more misery on Valley who have now conceded 12 goals in their last two home matches.
Rugby are next in action against Anstey Nomads on Tuesday, December 3 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Cropston Road.
