RUGBY Borough slipped to back-to-back home defeats in the league after losing 1-0 against Histon.
Borough lost ground on their title rivals as Connor Barnes’ goal proved decisive at Kilsby Lane.
And the result means Rugby sit third in the United Counties League Premier Division South table, four points behind St Neots Town with a game in-hand.
The game’s only goal came on 32 minutes when Barnes glanced Liam O’Neill’s cross into the net.
Rugby are next in action against Birmingham City in the Birmingham Senior Cup on Monday, January 13 with kick-off at 7.30pm at Stratford Town’s Arden Garages Stadium.
