WARWICKSHIRE all-rounder Dan Mousley has signed a two-year contract extension to remain with the Bears until the end of the 2027 season.
Mousley has progressed through the club’s youth and academy ranks since the age of 10-years-old.
The 23-year-old made his Bears debut in July 2019 and has made 79 appearances for Warwickshire with 44 of those outings coming in the T20 Blast.
Mousley said: “It feels brilliant to have signed a new contract.
“For me there’s no better place to play cricket than Edgbaston. And it’s extra special being a local boy.
“I’ve been to so many Bears games as a kid, watching them play. It’s a wonderful thing to pull on a Warwickshire shirt.
“To know I’ll be doing it for at least another three seasons means a lot. And it’s important for my family as well who’ve backed me all the way.
“Me getting that first contract, now this one, is testament to all their commitment as well as mine.
“I’m excited ahead of the new season. There has been change at the club with Westy now first team coach. I know Ian well, he was an academy coach, we work well together.
“Winning as many games as possible for Warwickshire, and winning trophies, is the focus for me and for all the boys. There’s a good buzz around the place.”
Mousley passed the 1,000-run mark in the T20 Blast last summer as his displays earned him a first-ever call-up to the England senior side.
He featured in four IT20 games and three ODI’s for England and scored a maiden international half-century on the white ball tour of the Caribbean.
Mousley added: “A home final in the Blast would be amazing.
“The occasion, the atmosphere, the noise at Edgbaston it would be amazing to be part of.
“But I’m a traditionalist at heart so I would love to win the County Championship.
“We did it in 2021, I didn’t play but I was around the squad then, it was special. To play a part in winning a championship would be incredible.”
Warwickshire first team coach, Ian Westwood said: “Dan is a local lad who’s come through the system and loves the club.
“He’s an exciting three-dimensional cricketer who brings bags of energy to our team.”
