A CRACKING good time has been had by kids in Rugby as a host of Easter activities has been keeping them busy during the school holidays.
Rugby Art Gallery and Museum hosted a programme of arts and craft workshops and activities inspired by its latest exhibition, Beyond the Canvas – A Celebration of British Sculpture from The Ingram Collection.
They included workshops in pottery, wet felting, junk modelling, dough sculpting, a treasure hunt, and an ongoing collaborative collaborative project to create a giant sculpture in the venue’s activity space.
Across the town centre, Asda hosted free Easter craft activities including the decorating of sweet jars, Sweet Art School held Easter Cupcake decorating workshops, and Art at the Alex ran a series of workshops with an Easter twist, in which Rugby artists and makers showed participants how to create fun items to gift, display or use.
Children enjoyed scouring the streets for the Easter bunny during an ongoing town centre trail for a chance to win some Easter treats.
And Hunt’s Bookshop hosted a special interactive storytime reading of ‘We’re Going on an Egg Hunt’ and other Easter themed stories, along with some fun activities.
