RUGBY-born rower Lauren Henry will compete for Great Britain at the upcoming European Rowing Championships.
Henry is one of 39 GB athletes selected to take part in the Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
The competition takes place from May 29 to June 1.
Henry won Olympic gold in the quadruple sculls event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
And she also won European gold last year in Szeged, Hungary and World Championship gold the previous year.
British Rowing’s director of performance, Louise Kingsley said: “The start of the new cycle is an exciting time, with a mix of familiar faces and new crews taking to the start line in Plovidiv.
“We have returning Olympic and Paralympic champions, as well as World, Olympic and Paralympic medallists in the squad.
“Plus, we welcome the new group of ‘Project LA’ athletes, many of whom have had medal success at under-23 level and made their senior debuts at World Rowing Cup 3 in 2024.
“After a long winter of training, I know everyone is keen to get their season underway and see how we perform against the rest of Europe.”
Henry is taking on a new challenge in Bulgaria as he races in the women’s single sculls.
