A SUMMER garden party is being held this weekend to raise vital funds for a century-old Rugby youth charity.
The Bradby Club Summer Garden Party takes place in the grounds of Bilton Grange Preparatory School on Saturday (June 7) from 2-5pm.
It will feature cream teas, live music, a bouncy castle, face painting and a magician.
Plants, raffle tickets, prosecco, pimms and ice-cream will be on sale.
The event will raise money for The Bradby Club, which has been working with young people in Rugby for 106 years. Its open-access evenings provide a safe centre for young people, with sport, cookery, residential courses and more. Professional youth workers offer informal education in safe relationships and substance misuse in schools and other clubs. Last year’s event raised around £3,000 for the club.
Alison Ross, a Bradby Trustee and Chair of the Fundraising Committee, said: “The Garden Party is our major fundraiser for the year and the club needs every penny it can get. We are incredibly busy with young and older members, young carers and a large number of boxers who train at the club most days of the week.”
Tickets cost £15 for those aged 17 and over, and £5 for six-to-16-year-olds. Entry is free to children aged five and under.
