HELP with gambling problems will be on offer at Rugby Library next week.
The charity Betknowmore UK will hold two community events at the Little Elborow Street venue to help people facing financial hardship, relationship breakdowns, poor mental and physical health, or involvement in crime due to gambling.
Coun Claire Edwards, Rugby Borough Council’s spokesperson for Communities and Homes, Regulation and Safety, said: “For too many people, gambling can become an addiction that can break up families and ruin lives.
“These two engagement days are an opportunity for anyone to come along and see what help is available. It’s never too late to get support.”
Her Liberal Democrat counterpart Coun Noreen New added: “It has become very easy for people to let gambling become a habit that is hard to break. It usually starts small but then gets out of control. These community events will give people a chance to stop gambling ruining their lives.”
Betknowmore works to address and prevent gambling harms using the knowledge of people who have experienced them, as well as evidence-led health and therapeutic approaches.
The charity will be at Rugby Library from 9am to 1pm on Tuesday (June 10) and Wednesday (June 11). Visit www.betknowmoreuk.org for more information.
