A NEW summer festival is being hosted by Princethorpe College at the end of this month.
Building on the success of Princethorpe PTA’s traditional Summer Fete and Motoring Festival, the college’s new Summer Fest takes place on Sunday June 29 from 11am to 7pm.
The main Festival Stage will feature live performances by Krisis DJ, Mac Wood, Molly Gone Mad and James Byrne, as well as local groups including the Rock Choir, Local Vocals, the Collaboration Choir, the cast of the College’s recent musical Newsies Jr, Love Ballet Dance Company, Crescent School’s Choir, a Taekwondo demonstration and Princethorpe’s Dance Company.
Across the site, visitors will be able to explore students’ Photography and Design Exhibition, take in the Motoring Festival’s classic and vintage vehicles, and try out the College’s climbing wall.
Other attractions include crazy golf, glitter, tattoos, sporting games, Total Wipeout, a surf simulator and a helter skelter.
Arts and crafts will be on sale, alongside a variety of food and drink.
Headmaster Grove du Toit welcomed Ruth Hurford-Jones from the College’s PTA and Yousaf and Amy Hussain from event sponsors Carter and King to unveil a giant banner advertising the Summer Fest.
Mr du Toit said: “Plenty of work has gone in behind the scenes to put together Princethorpe’s first Summer Fest.
“It’s going to be a great family day out with something for everyone – from music, arts and craft lovers to classic car fans and foodies – as well as providing plenty of entertainment and activities for all to enjoy.”
