THE ICING on the cake – a sweet celebration took place to mark The Percival Guildhouse’s centenary, with spectacular cakes spelling out ‘100’ as the star attraction.
A birthday tea party was held to thank students and tutors for their support of the adult education centre as it celebrated its 100th birthday.
The cakes, created by cake crafter and baker Vera Queiroz to spell out the number 100, offered guests the choice of three flavours – lemon, strawberry and chocolate, including one gluten free to cater for all tastes.
In thanking all of the 50 plus guests present, Chair of Trustees Rob Close said their continuing support was vital as the Guildhouse sought to secure its future as the home of lifelong learning in Rugby.
He also thanked Centre Manager Sarah Gall and her team for organising the event, and Vera for the excellence of her baking and icing skill.
