GRANT Joshua claimed his first win as Rugby Town boss after Valley battled to a 2-0 victory away at Wellingborough Town.
Goals either side of half time from Caine Elliott and Callum Griffin sealed Rugby’s first league win of the season at the Dog and Duck Ground.
The result means Valley sit seventh in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.
In a game of few clear-cut chances, the visitors broke the deadlock on 35 minutes when Elliott latched onto goalkeeper Marcus Bald’s long ball up the pitch and finished through the legs of home stopper Brandon Ganley.
And Rugby sealed the points five minutes into injury time as Griffin bundled home his first Valley goal after substitute Joe Palmer saw his initial effort hit the post and roll across the face of goal.
Rugby are next in action against Corby Town on Tuesday, August 19 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Butlin Road.
