Second chapter of Rugby Literary Festival to begin this weekend

Andy Morris 1st Oct, 2025   0

THE SECOND chapter of the Rugby Literary Festival begins on Friday (October 3), following a successful inaugural event last year.

During the three-day festival, the town centre will host a variety of events including storytelling, workshops, book fairs, authors, discussion panels, competitions, street art, children’s activities and a Story Trail.

The Story Trail map can be collected from the Rugby Literary Festival information point in Rugby Central shopping centre – pointing the way to a variety of fun activities and story-telling adventures, with goodie bags available to all who complete the trail.

Children are encouraged to complete the trail dressed as their favourite character for a chance to win a special prize.

The festival will also feature a special Family Day on Sunday October 5, featuring free workshops and giveaways for children.

The festival is being organised by Rugby First in partnership with Rugby Borough Council and a variety of groups, authors, local businesses and organisations.

Rugby First Business Director Linda Lowne said: “This is the second Rugby Literary Festival that has taken place and I am absolutely delighted with the programme and the amount of interest it has generated.

“A special thanks to all those who have come together to support the event along with Rugby Borough Council, Tritax Big Box, Rugby Central, The Rugby Hotel, The Percival Guildhouse, Warwickshire libraries and local author Lindsay Woodward.

“Please remember to shop locally whenever possible and show your love and support for our Rugby Town Centre businesses.”

The Rugby Literary Festival takes place from Friday (October 3) to Sunday (October 5).
