MODERN life and Greek myth collide in After Aulis at the Attic Theatre in Stratford.

The one woman show, running from July 18 to 21, has been penned by Rowena Cooper and is performed by Emmeline Braefield.

It is described as dark comedy based on an ancient Greek tragedy – complete with sex, selflessness and stilettos – and asks the question what do you do when your responsibilities catch up with you?

Rowena graduated from the University of London with a Masters in Classics, and was leading a sales team when, in 2016, she decided to become a writer.

Since then, her poetry and flash fiction has been published in Claudius Speaks and Panoplyzine, and in 2017 she was commended in the Winchester Poetry Prize for her poem Ultraviolet.

Emmeline, a familiar face at the Attic, has been performing in film and theatre nationwide for almost a decade.

Audiences are advised the production does contain strong language and adult themes.
