THE BEST women cyclists in the world are getting to know Warwickshire very well.
Conditions were perfect as the The OVO Energy Women’s Tour rode round the county for a third successive year on the third and longest leg of the five leg race at 150 km.
Beginning in Atherstone, 17 teams made their way through Kenilworth, Warwick and the surrounding countryside before heading for the finish line outside South Warwickshire Justice Centre on Newbold Terrace in Leamington.
Australian Sarah Roy won a sprint finish to ctake the stage victory ahead of former world champions Giorgia Bronzini and Marianne Vos.
Coryn Rivera started the day wearing the leader’s yellow jersey, and kept hold of it during the stage.
The riders were greeted by a carnival cycling-themed atmosphere in Leamington which included everything from live music to Strider Bike races for under fives.
