HURRICANE Ophelia made her impression on people across the area around lunchtime.
An eerie light akin to an eclipse was experienced by many out and about as the sun took on an unusual reddish orange colour.BBC weather presenter Simon King explained it was due to the remnants of Hurricane Ophelia dragging in tropical air and dust from the Sahara. He added debris from forest fires in Portugal and Spain was also playing a part.
Scientifically the dust caused shorter wavelength blue light to be scattered, making it appear red.
Leamington photographer Debbie Lawson took these pictures of the unusual coloured sun.
