OVER 80 years of motoring heritage went on display at Lutterworth MOT Centre’s fourth annual Car Show.

Hundreds turned out in the late summer sun to marvel at over 50 vintage and classic vehicles, from a 1926 Alvis 12/50 to a 2008 Ford Focus ST 2.5 5 cylinder turbo with many performance modifications.

The event raised over £860 for Lutterworth Scouts from a raffle, food contributions and exhibitor donations.

The MOT centre’s Marianne Walker said it was great to receive such fantastic support from the community.

She added: “It’s a pleasure to help raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.

“It’s great to hear first-hand how the kids benefit – for example, last year we were sent a photo of them enjoying the new fire pits the money bought.”

A further £55 was raised for charity Freddie’s Wish, founded by Charlotte Jolliffe in memory of her 13-month-old son Freddie who died in a tragic accident in 2014.

Matt Cant ran a ‘guess the number of balloons in the car’ competition for the charity from his supercharged 1.8 Mazda MX5.

Charlotte said: “We are truly grateful to Matt for organising it. ‎The money raised will be able to fund one of our paediatric first aid classes.

“Matt has also been drifting with Fueltopia with our logo on his car, promoting awareness for which we are also grateful.

“Congratulations to Naomi Teagles and her family for winning a weekend away at Watling Meadow Farm.”

The 1926 Alvis was named Car of the Show, with the 1.8 Mazda MX5 finishing as runner-up.
