Rugby Editorial 27th Oct, 2020   0

POLICE seized nearly 250 plants after a cannabis farm was found in Leamington.

On Friday (October 23) officers executed a warrant at an address on Brunswick Street after concern was raised about suspicious activity at the property.

A total of 236 plants were seized, and while no arrests have been made investigations are ongoing.

It is the fourth discovery of a cannabis farm in recent weeks due to ‘Operation Switch’ by Leamington’s Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT). Officers have been trying to identify and tackle drug dealing in and around the town.

PC Mark Parry from the SNT said: “This warrant was executed as a result of information being passed to us by members of the public who had concerns about this property.

“I hope local people can see that we do act on the information they provide. Please continue to provide information and we will continue to act. All intelligence helps us to get a picture of issues in the local area and target those responsible.”
