Rugby hair salon's magical display wins Best Dressed Christmas Window competition

A MAGICAL festive display at a Rugby hair salon has won the town’s hotly contested annual Best Dressed Christmas Window competition.

Scallywags Hair Studio was declared the winner by Mayor Maggie O’Rourke, beating off over 20 entries to scoop the trophy.

Make My Day Events, Abraxas Cookshop and the Life Charity Shop also received special commendations from the Mayor for the quality of their displays.

Kerry, owner and manager of the Regent Street hair salon, said: “Myself and the team at Scallywags Hair Studio are so happy to have won the best dressed Christmas themed window competition with our Peppermint Christmas Wonderland theme.

“We love taking part in the competitions every year and have so much fun as a team creating beautiful designs.”

Coun O’Rourke said: “I was delighted to be invited to judge the Rugby town centre Christmas Window Dressing competition. There were some fabulous displays so choosing a winner was not easy.

“Rugby town centre has some great businesses, offering some amazing gifts, services and hospitality, and I would encourage everyone to visit and support these.”

The competition was run by town centre management company Rugby First, whose Business Manager Linda Lowne said: “Each year the popularity of the competition continues to grow, and it was great to see so many businesses involved.

“A big thank you to all those that took part and for creating some brilliant window displays which really add to the Christmas shopping experience in the town centre.

“The next opportunity for businesses to dress their windows and ‘Wow’ their customers, with colourful and creative displays, will be Valentines Day.”
