THE CRASH which killed cyclist Sam Davies on Friday January 8 may have been witnessed by a passer-by.

CCTV footage shows a pedestrian walking past at the time of the incident, which occurred around 8.20am that day at the junction of Parkfield Road (A4071) and Lawford Road (A428).

Police want the person pictured to come forward as they may have vital information on the collision.

The witness is described as wearing a 3/4 length black coat with the hood up, white trousers and black coloured shoes or trainers. They had been walking from the direction of Newbold towards Lawford Road. It is unclear if it was a man or a woman.

A police spokesman said: “While we appreciate the image is not clear, police are appealing for the member of the public who can be seen within the CCTV to come forward.”

Police were called at approximately 8:30pm to reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a beige Audi A5.

24 year-old Samuel Davies was rushed to Coventry University Hospital, where he sadly died from his injuries.

Please call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident 398 of January 8.
