Bookmakers Favorites: World Cup 2022

The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar is coming up. This will be the first time in modern times that the major sports event will take place in the middle of the winter because the weather would be unbearable for a football tournament during the summer in the Middle East. This will be the 22nd World Cup in men’s football and it will be arranged from November 21 to December 18.

The FIFA World Cup has been played every fourth year since its start in 1930 – except the war years 1942 and 1946. Every year, the world’s best national football teams meet to compete for the championship, and at the same time, fans gather in stadiums and in front of their TVs and computers to enjoy the excitement.

Many people also like to spice up the tournament by placing bets, and as usual, bookmakers have already revealed some of the teams that have the odds on their side. So, make sure to head to different bookmakers that offer competitive odds as well as are brilliant at other points, such as offering casino games like video slots when you are bored between the games.

Remember that there are still several months until the World Cup take place and therefore a lot can change regarding the odds. But let us look at which teams’ bookmakers list as favorites at the time of writing.

  1. Brazil

Brazil is the country that has won the most World Cups throughout history. With that said, it is not surprising that they are favorites among bookmakers this year as well. With its strong team and its previous brilliant performances, Brazil is a fairly safe card for bettors during the World Cup in Qatar. Of course, this also means that the odds are not as good – so it is up to you if you want to feel safe and earn less or vice versa.

2.  England

England showed incredible strength and determination in their games during the European Championships, which is one of the reasons why the national team is a favorite amongst bookmakers. With Harry Kane on the team, not much can go wrong this winter. But we do not know for sure until they play their first game during the tournament. However, the same applies for England as for Brazil: bookmakers believe England will get far during the World Cup, which makes the odds less profitable.

3. France

Another team that is considered the biggest favorites to win the 2022 World Cup is the reigning champion: France. The nation’s team has such a large squad of talents, that you could line up two individual teams, which could challenge for the title. As with the other teams, you can choose a safe card and bet on one of the teams that are expected to win, such as France, but then you will not win that much money if you are correct. If, on the other hand, you choose to invest in a country that may not be what most people believe in, but which still has fair chances of reaching the final, then the profit will be significantly greater.
