Cartier gold box sells for £10,400 at auction

AN 18ct Cartier gold box was sold for £10,400 at auction by Kinghams Auctioneers.

According to the British Museum: “The gem-set work (on gold boxes) was done by Cartier’s in-house workshop known as English Art Works. They are masterpieces of craftmanship in gold working, enamelling and the cutting and setting of gems and hardstones. “Next specialist Silver & Objects of Vertu sale to be held on June 14th. Actively seeking consignments of interesting silver and gold boxes, silver collectables such as vesta cases, vinaigrettes and nutmeg graters.

The next Valuation Day at Dorridge Village Hall, Grange Road, Dorridge, Solihull, B93 8QA is on May 9 from 11am to 2pm.
