High School Musical to hit the stage for one night only

Rugby Editorial 4th Jul, 2019   0

A SMASH-hit movie musical will come to life onstage in Rugby for one night only tomorrow (Friday July 5).

A cast of local youngsters aged 11-16 from ASH Stage Productions will perform Disney’s High School Musical Jr at the Avon Valley School Theatre.

The musical tells the story of Troy Bolton (Theo Gladman) and Gabriella Montez (Abigail Green) and the students of East High, who must deal with issues of love, friends and family while balancing their classes and extracurricular activities.

The show is based on the hit movie starring Zac Effron, and features songs including Breaking Free, Status Quo and Start of Something New.

Joint company co-founders and production directors Adam and Sam Holst said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be producing such a famous and much loved Disney Musical, for which we were granted special permission to license by Disney.

“We have been blown away with how hard the company have worked on this production. The cast have all come such a long way since the initial rehearsal process began and have all grown with maturity as performers and have put together a fabulous show to be very proud of.

“We can’t wait to welcome our audience who are in for a real treat and would like to wish our very best to all involved, while also saying a big thank you for everyone’s hard work and dedication.”

The show starts at 7.30pm. Visit www.ash-stage-productions.webs.com or call 01788 569718 for tickets (£10 adults, £8 concessions), also available on the door.
