THREE actors will take on 17 roles in a zany spoof of a classic Sherlock Holmes story.
A howling mad version of The Hound of the Baskervilles opens at Rugby Theatre on Saturday (March 11).
Robert Sloan, Chris Allen-Mason and Malcolm Stewart will share all the roles – male, female, human and animal – including Holmes, his sidekick Dr Watson and their dastardly adversary Moriarty.
Director Steve Crump said: “Don’t worry if you hear rumbling; it’s just Sir Arthur Conan Doyle spinning in his grave. It’s Sherlock Holmes as you’ve never seen him before.
“We’ve had an incredible time putting it together during rehearsals – directing three actors playing 17 different parts has been a challenge in itself.
“Fortunately, I’ve had three wonderful performers to work with, backed up by Rugby Theatre’s incredibly supportive backstage team.”
Sherlock – otherwise known as Rob Sloan (pictured) – set aside his differences with his notorious adversary to express his thanks to Moriarty’s Café in Regent Street for their charitable work, which includes finding work placements for ex-offenders.
