A PARTY will raise money for Warwickshire Pride and celebrate the diversity in Rugby’s LGBT+ community.
The Big Red Rugby Rainbow Party will raise money for the Pride group in response to a recent survey indicating Rugby is ‘not a friendly place’ for LGBT+ people.
Hosted by Warwickshire’s own drag queen legend Sassi Afrika, it will feature a live performance from punk-pop singer songwriter DiDi alongside local singers, dancers, DJs and drag queens.
Warwickshire Pride chair Daniel Browne said: “If we didn’t already know it, recent events have shown how important it is for Rugby’s LGBT+ community to celebrate our place in this town.
“The Big Red Rugby Rainbow Party is an opportunity to do just that, so we’re extending a warm welcome to all our allies and anyone who cares about equality to come along and have a brilliant time.”
The party takes place at 7.30pm on Friday March 29 at the Indian Centre in Edward Street.
All proceeds will support projects with Warwickshire Pride for Rugby’s LGBTQ+ community.
