REGINALD D Hunter will be shooting from the hip as ever at Leamington’s Spa Centre.
He brings his new show Some People v Reginald D Hunter to town on May 6, and like his previous work it is likely to be a little controversial, but also meticulously thought out
During the 15 years in which he has lived in the UK, his searingly honest material has garnered him a popular fan-base that spans the generations.
In the past 12 months he has appeared in a critically acclaimed tour of Ireland as well as performing across Europe.
His appearances on television have included Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown and the hugely popular three-part BBC2 series Reginald D Hunter’s Songs Of The South, which documented his epic road trip from North Carolina to New Orleans through 150 years of American popular song.
The Times said: “Reginald D Hunter joins the top rank of stand-up comedians working today…a comedian going for broke, flying in the face of received opinion in a way that is simply exhilarating……this is comedy of a rare scope”.
Other comedy highlights of the Spa Centre’s summer season include musical satirist Mitch Benn, Chortle Award Winner 2015, Marcel Lucont along with Ayesha Hazarika, a former adviser to ex-Labour leader Ed Miliband.
