LONG Road Festival will be celebrating Country, Americana and roots music and culture over the bank holiday.
The festival takes place at Stanford Hall near Lutterworth from Friday to Sunday (August 23 to 25).
The festival kicks off on Friday with the American country vocal group Chapel Hart, answering the call of popular demand with a triumphant return to the festival having previously played as part of Rissi Palmer’s Color Me Country takeover. They will headline the Interstate stage on the opening night, following sets from alt-country band American Aquarium, hip-hop country group Gangstagrass, folk duo Campbell Jensen and pop-rocker Gina Larner.
Saturday sees the Rhinestone Stage host a UK exclusive headline show from the Don McLean. Renowned for classics like American Pie and Vincent (Starry, Starry Night), and his cover of Roy Orbison’s Crying which reached number 1 in the UK.
Also appearing on the Saturday will be Paula Cole and Beyoncé collaborator Brittney Spencer, plus The Red Clay Strays and Colbie Caillat leading the charge on the Interstate stage.
Crowning the final evening of the festival will be country-pop sensation Russell Dickerson, West Texas native Randall King, folk-country outfit Flatland Cavalry, and country artist Pokey LaFarge.
And there will be many more besides taking to the various stages.
