Warwickshire Symphony Orchestra prepare for a family affair

WARWICKSHIRE Symphony Orchestra returns to Leamington’s Spa Centre for its popular family concert on November 19.

The orchestra’s once again brings an opportunity to introduce children to the magic and excitement of live music from a symphony orchestra.

And the family concert, starting at 3pm, will also offer opportunities to sing along and a quiz with prizes.

The theme in this Coronation year is Kings and Queens and the concert will start with the National Anthem.




The programme includes Walton’s Coronation March Orb and Sceptre, The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba (Handel), Music from The Royal Fireworks (Handel), Charge and Battle from Henry V Suite (Walton) and The Young Prince and Princess Scheherazade (Rimsky-Korsakov).

From stage and screen there will be Howard Shore’s music for Return of the King, Music from Frozen and even the theme tune from Coronation Street, as well as rock and pop classics including Queen’s We Will Rock You and Dancing Queen by Abba.


The programme will be introduced and conducted by Paul Leddington Wright, the orchestra’s associate conductor, and Rosie Harris will lead the singing.
