SPRINGTIME will be welcomed at an annual fund-raising event next month.
Daffodil Sunday takes place in the grounds of Newnham Paddox country house – the country estate of the Earl and Countess of Denbigh, near Monks Kirby – on Sunday April 6 from 11am to 4pm.
The event makes a welcome return following its cancellation last year due to waterlogged grounds.
Visitors can take woodland and lakeside walks in the scenic grounds designed by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.
Attractions include a vintage car and tractor show, alpacas, birds of prey, children’s games, a woodland trail, a model sawmill, woodturning. model boats, and entertainment from the Dunchurch Silver Band, the Ocho Rios Steel Band, The Sax Man, the Jill Bartlett School of Dance, Evolve Theatre, and Knightlow Morris Men.
Stalls include plants, leather goods, home and garden decor, woodcrafts, hand-made and knitted goods, ceramics and jewellery, jam and preserves, delicatessen, brownies, gin and more.
Food and drink includes hotdogs, samosas, pizza, locally made ice cream, doughnuts, crepes, tea, and home-made cakes.
Daffodil Sunday is the main fund-raising event for the Friends of the Revel C of E Churches group, comprising St John the Baptist in Brinklow, Holy Trinity Church in Churchover, All Saints Church in Harborough Magna, St Edith’s in Monks Kirby, St Denys’ in Pailton, and St Leonard’s in Willey.
Admission costs £5 for adults, and is free for under-16s. Parking is free.
