Appeal to find dog which jumped out of moving car on M6

Rugby Editorial 30th Dec, 2016   0

A DISTAUGHT dog owner is appealing for help to find his pet after the puppy jumped out of a moving car on the motorway.

Jonah, a nine month-old male Hungarian Vizsla, was in the car with his owner on Thursday (December 29). The pup was in the boot behind a dog guard.

But for unknown reasons Jonah began showing signs of distress and forced his way past the guard and into the main body of the car.

He then stood on the button for the electric window which began to go down. Before there was chance to stop him the dog had jumped out of the window.

Concerned residents have been out in force looking for the dog but despite a few sightings there has been no luck locating him.

Dog rescuer Trisha Shaw, who volunteers for charity DogLost, is appealing for people to help look for the pup and check their gardens and outbuildings for him.

She told the Observer: “Jonah was spotted by a member of the public near to GAP warehouse and he barked at the man from the other side of the fence. He was also seen in Crows Furlong on the Coton Park housing estate and may have been seen a second time there later on. There has been a possible sighting very close to the industrial area but searchers were unable to find him.

“The company that Jonah’s chip is registered to are aware that he is missing. All local vets have been informed. Posters are being printed and we hope that volunteers will help to put these up.

“We ask everyone to please share Jonah’s DogLost poster and do as much as you can to support Jonah’s family, who have had a massive shock and are distraught that he is missing.”
