Arrests made after woman killed on Bilton Road

TWO MEN have been arrested following a fatal crash in Rugby.

A woman in her 60s walking on Bilton Road was killed after she was hit by a blue Nissan car at around 6.40pm on Sunday (February 3). It happened between Webb Ellis Road and Buchanan Road.

A 54-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drugs,

Police later arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.




Both men remain in police custody.

The victim has not yet been officially named.


Det Insp Lisa Sears said: “We’re keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the two vehicles in the moments before the incident or has dash cam footage from the area.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the Nissan, or a light-coloured Audi, shortly before the crash should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
