ARTISTS in Barby are preparing to open their studio door to visitors.
Dot and Geoff Crowe will be welcoming people to their organic garden and home at Cleves Garden Studio as part of this year’s free Warwickshire Open Studios weekend events.
The couple have missed opening the garden and workshop studio, and sharing space with artists, craftspeople and visitors, over the last two years due to the pandemic.
But they are back with several changes to the allotment, the garden and refurbishment of the workshop studio.
There will be seven artists and craftspeople exhibiting and demonstrating their skills spread over the three weekend openings – June 18 and 19, June 25 and 26 and July 2 and 3, from noon to 5pm each day – at 4 Cleve Cottage on Daventry Road.
Theey include potters Dot and Crowe, Louise Eardley’s glazed thrown and hand-built stoneware ceramics, Anthea Yeo’s jewellery and small sculptures, Helena Verrill’s geometrically inspired paper folding, painter Peter, who works in acrylic and oil, and Penny Dixon’s wearable hand-felted textile pieces and homeware.
This year Warwickshire Open Studios Summer Art Weeks will see 149 venues across Coventry and Warwickshire opening, with over 400 artists and makers taking part, betweem June 18 and July 3.
