AN AWARD-winning artist will help Rugbeians to be creative at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum’s Big Draw celebration later this month.
The free event will encourage visitors to experiment with different painting and drawing techniques to create weird and wonderful artworks.
Award-winning artist MrASingh will demonstrate how to draw on Perspex to create vibrant and vivid pieces of art.
The Let’s Animate team will return to the gallery to reveal the art of animation during the event, while visitors can create intricate patterns with a pendulum drawing machine.
Other contraptions include scribble machines and bristle bots, while the Big Draw also includes a host of arts activities.
Rugby Borough Council’s growth and investment spokesman Coun Sebastian Lowe said: “The annual Big Draw celebration has become one of the most popular events in the Art Gallery and Museum’s calendar, with art activities for all ages on offer throughout the day.
“The national Big Draw festival encourages the community to get creative and we’re proud to take a leading role in promoting creativity in Rugby.”
The Big Draw runs at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum from 11am to 3pm on Saturday October 13.
Now in its 18th year, the Big Draw has become the world’s largest drawing festival and promotes visual literacy and drawing as a tool for learning, expression and invention.
