BILTON School’s GCSE results showed ‘almost universal’ improvements across the board compared to the last time exams were sat in 2019.

There was a 10 per cent rise in students gaining a Grade 5 or above in both Maths and English, as well as a new record for students scoring the top 9-7 grades.

High achievers included Mya Virk with five Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and one Distinction*, Gurleen Singh Kaur with three Grade 9s and 5 Grade 8s, Magaile Skutalaite with four Grade 9s, three Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7, Abinaja Baskaran with three Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and one Distinction*, and Diogo Jaffery Aceves with four Grade 9s, four Grade 7s and a Distinction*.

Headteacher Tim Chambers said: “We are really proud that our Year 11 students have achieved so well this summer, in spite of the incredible challenges that they experienced during the past 18 months of their education.

“We are so pleased to be able to send our students onto the next stage of their journey knowing that everyone has worked so hard to gain their achievements.

“Lots of our students produced excellent results, and importantly met their personal learning goals. Well done to all our students and staff for their fantastic dedication, as well as the unwavering support from parents.”
