Book donation inspires Rugby pupils to build a future in the construction industry

PUPILS at a Rugby primary school are being inspired to build a future in the construction industry.

Paddox Primary School has received a donation of 45 copies of an educational book, written by graduates on Barratt Homes’ Aspire Programme.

The book, We Can Build, takes young readers on a journey through the different stages of building a house – to inspire the next generation of architects, engineers and site managers.

Reception Class Teacher Louise Barnes said: “Reading is at the heart of our curriculum and we’re so grateful for this generous donation of books.

“Our pupils love reading and we are committed to enabling our children to gain a lifelong love of reading and books.”

All profits from the sale of the book have been dedicated to The Prince’s Trust charity, which helps connect young people with mentors and career opportunities.

Tanya Silk of Barratt Homes said: “The book covers all elements of construction including architecture, engineering, surveying, site management, construction and sales. We hope that the book might inspire some of the pupils of Paddox Primary School to become the next generation in the industry.”
