Bright sparks get safety tips from firefighters

BRIGHT SPARKS at a Rugby school learned how to stay safe when they were visited by firefighters.

Members of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue delivered a Junior Fire Safety Champion talk at the Crescent School.

The children explored different fire hazards within the home, looking at ways they could keep themselves and their families safe in the event of a fire.

The talk concluded with a question-and-answer session where the children asked thought-provoking questions such as ‘are there ever fires at fire stations?’ – the answer was ‘yes’, much to their surprise.

The pupils were handed booklets to help them carry out fire safety checks at home.
