A GROUP hug helped residents, team members and relatives at a Rugby care home share the love.
Anya Court Care Home celebrated its annual Hug Day by dressing up in pyjamas to cuddle up together with Dylan, the home’s pet Jack Russell.
The residential, dementia and nursing care home holds the event each year to encourage physical interaction and celebrate the comfort a simple hug can bring.
In the afternoon, residents enjoyed a ‘hug in a mug’ event, with hot chocolate and a movie in the home’s cinema, and music from Opera singer Teresa de Roberto.
Anya Court lifestyle leader Emma Wheatley said: “Hug Day is an extension of what we do here at Anya Court on a day-to-day basis. The event is an opportunity to celebrate the friendships we have within the home and show the residents how much we love and appreciate them.”
