Care home's time capsule buried for posterity to mark 25th anniversary

A TIME capsule has been buried at a Rugby care home to mark its organisation’s 25th anniversary.

Residents and staff at Anya Court Care Home buried the time capsule for future generations to dig up to mark the quarter-century of owner Hallmark Care Homes.

The time capsule included messages from residents, a thank you letter and pictures from Buttercups Nursery, press cuttings, and the home’s activity planner.

Residents were treated to musical entertainment over breakfast as part of the ceremony.

They were joined for the occasion by Hallmark Care Homes’ Chairman Avnish Goyal and Managing Director Aneurin Brown during their 800-mile trip to visit all of the company’s 22 care homes this week.

Anya Court’s general manager Michelle Sides said: “It was lovely to mark our 25th anniversary as a business and see everyone joining in with something that explains the world as we see it right now.

“A special plaque was installed to mark the point where the time capsule is buried and we hope in 25 years when it is dug up, future generations can discover and learn from it.”
