Charity wraps presents for child victims of crime

CHRISTMAS wishes are being delivered to child victims of crime thanks to the Rugby community.

Children’s charity Embrace launched its seasonal ‘Dear Santa’ appeal which saw Rugbeians-turned-elves wrap gifts ready to post to children affected by crime across the Midlands.

Former England rugby international Jon Sleightholme also lent a hand at the central wrapping hub at Brownsover Hall.

He said: “It’s a great charity helping some of the most vulnerable children in the country. I am sure that the presents we wrapped will be well received but there are still many more waiting to be purchased so, if you can afford an extra gift this year, please dig deep.”

The charity posts Amazon wishlists with gift requests from children which the public can browse, along with information about the child.

Any gifts they decide to buy will be wrapped and posted in time for Christmas.

The charity supports young people affected by serious crime including homicide, sexual abuse, domestic violence and neglect.
