‘INSPIRING’ children’s authors the Brothers McLeod sparked kids’ imaginations during a visit to Cawston Grange Primary School.
Illustrator Greg McLeod and writer Myles McLeod – who have also found success making animated films – invited pupils from Years 3 to 6 to take part in a workshop.
The children created a character and a storyboard, learning more about the process of story writing from the brothers.
Greg and Myles shared extracts from their new book Knight Sir Louis and the Sorcerer of Slime, and the children were excited to ask questions about how they became an author and illustrator – with many now inspired to try it themselves.
Pupil Charlotte Guerrieria said: “I liked watching the illustrations being drawn while one of the McLeod brothers was reading,” with Michael Savage adding: “I liked the different voices that were used for each character as they were funny.”
Jenson Harper said: “It was exciting meeting the authors of the book I am currently reading,” and Violet Jones added: “I found them inspiring.”
