CHRISTMAS kindness was in abundance when Rugby Labour Party members donated food to help feed hungry people over the festive season.
The donations to Rugby Foodbank were made at a Christmas event held at the Inside The 22 bar in the town centre.
Coun John Slinger, the party’s parliamentary candidate, said: “I was delighted to deliver the generous donations to Rugby Foodbank. They and all who donate show what a strong community Rugby is.
“We are all humbled and inspired by the incredible efforts of the staff and volunteers at the Rugby Foodbank and Hope4 charity.
“It is unacceptable that in the year 2023, food poverty is a growing problem for so many of our fellow citizens. I will do all I can to promote and support the work of the Foodbank, but also to address the wider issues that unfortunately mean that it is needed.”
