Community projects in Lutterworth area boosted by windfall

COMMUNITY projects in the Lutterworth area have received a windfall funded by developers.

Projects which support the health and wellbeing of residents have been given funding received from developers as part of planning obligations by Harborough District Council.

Lutterworth Rugby Football Club received help with its clubhouse renovations to mark its 150th anniversary.

The works involved building a single-storey extension to the club building, comprising extra changing rooms, bathrooms, equipment storage areas, a rehabilitation area and two externally-accessible toilets.

Other projects to receive contributions include the Pavillion in Husbands Bosworth and Lutterworth Community Centre.

HDC Deputy Leader Coun Simon Galton said: “I am delighted we have been able to allocate funding from developers to worthwhile projects that make a real difference to people’s lives.

“We want to support communities where we can, and help to improve community facilities and open spaces for the benefit of residents in the district.”
